Do you need to send some letters to customers who are overdue? Do you need to send a letter to your 1099 Vendors to remind them to send you their W-9 forms? Well GP can help…..by combining SmartList with the Dynamics GP Letter Writing Assistant you will have your letters ready to go in minutes!
Here’s how it works:
First you need a list of the customers or vendors you want to send the letter to….easiest way to pull this together is by a SmartList. Let’s say we want to send a letter to all of our customers
Go to SmartList >> Sales >> Customers >> Customers Over Credit Limit*
This SmartList will show any customers who are over their credit limit.

Note: The address information is not needed on the SmartList to use the Letter Writing Assistant
Once you have your SmartList data, choose the WORD Button on your ribbon at the top of the Smartlist window. Select the drop down “Prepare a Customer Letter” or “Prepare a Collection Letter”. In this case, we will choose “Prepare a Collection Letter”.
Once you choose Prepare a Collection Letter – The Letter Writing Assistant window will open.
If we choose “Final Notice” to send out to our customers the customers from the SmartList will populate. You have the option to unmark customers you do not want to send a letter.
Once you have completed filling in the contact information click on FINISH, GP will generate the collection letters in Word.
